Summer is officially here, and July 2026 celebrates our favorite icons of the season! It will be National Blueberry Month, National Watermelon Month, National Picnic Month, and one of Encore’s favorite holidays: National Hot Dog Month!

The summer may be hot, but we’ll be offering really COOL programming at our OACs:

• Celebrate July 4^th with a Star Spangled Dance Party, Independence Day Dance Party, and July 4^th Trivia.
• Enjoy grilled Franks with Frank Villanueva, Facilities Captain, and learn how to blockprint Hot Totes for Hot Dog Day.
• Piña Coladas & Pool Cues on National Piña Colada Day!
• Cool down with delicious ices and make friends during our Ice Cream Social and Movie & Discussion of Mamma Mia! on National Ice Cream Day.
• Elevator Trivia with special elevator-themed prizes to celebrate the upcoming reopening of the ATA elevator!
• Social Wellness Month activities:  Coffee & Chat continental breakfast with our own Kenneth Cox, Chief Development & Communications Officer;    Sharing Stories with the Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Youth & Adults;   Intro to Improv: Play, Connect, Create with Broadway Serves.
• Financial Wellness activities:  Making Cents of Caregiving Costs with AARP;     Resource Fair: Managing Your Medicare & Health with Caseworkers Jesse Denniston-Lee and Laura Rapp.
• Older adult-led Zazzy Zumba;    Special Zumba with Michael Puckering, Activities Coordinator;    and a Latin Dance Party every week!
• And check out our mouthwatering global-inspired menu, including:   Birria, Chicken Francaise, Biryani, Fish Oreganata, and so much more!
