Volunteer at Encore
Encore’s mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults. Volunteers are essential to this mission, and we welcome individuals, companies, faith groups, and other community organizations to our center. Our typical shifts are below. Volunteers working with food should be able to lift 15 lbs and wear long pants, sleeved shirts, and closed-toed shoes. Volunteers can also help with friendly visiting, events (such as bingo or monthly birthday parties), and more. Reach out to volunteer@encorenyc.org with questions.
Meal Delivery (49 St)
We need 30 volunteers to deliver meals to isolated, homebound older adults on Manhattan’s West Side (14th–110th St). After a brief orientation, volunteers head out with handcarts and route sheets, traveling on foot or via Lyft (provided). Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Volunteers return to the center after deliveries to return equipment and check in.
