Encore Community Services Volunteers outside a church

Volunteers are needed more than ever at Encore! While many organizations have scaled back due to COVID-19, the need for Encore’s meals and services has increased by 45%. Individuals, families, corporate groups and civic groups are needed to give their once, weekly, monthly or on long-term projects. For more information about volunteer opportunities, you can email or call our Volunteer Coordinator at (212) 581-2910 ext. 1136 or click here to sign up.

Here are just a few ways you can help our older adults thrive:

  • Meal Delivery – help deliver meals on foot or via Lyft to homebound and isolated older adults
  • Food Packing – help assemble our “cold packs,” which is one half of the meals we deliver
  • Meal Service/Grab and Go – help with serving meals, bussing tables, pouring coffee, distributing to-go meals, and socializing with older adults
  • Kitchen Prep – assist in general kitchen work

Individuals can also contact Encore to explore serving on its Board of Directors. To find out more, please email Jeremy Kaplan.
